SAS 70 Audit Services
Statement of Auditing Standards number 70
(SAS 70) was issued by the American institute of Certified of
Public Accountants to describe the factors a CPA should assess
when performing an audit of a client that uses a service
organization to process financial transactions, To satisfy SAS 70,
a rather detailed review of the organization's policies,
procedures and internal controls must be conducted and then tests
of their effectiveness must be performed,
The American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants has developed two levels of services for SAS
70. The first referred to as Type I, includes all necessary review
services to permit the auditor to understand the internal controls
describe them and reach conclusion as to the adequacy of the
control environment. The second referred to as Type II, includes
all the services of the Type I, plus testing of the internal
controls to determine if they are actually effective.
We have performed numerous SAS 70 audits
on the health care plan TPAs. Out SAS 70 audits are in compliance
with all AICPA and ERISA requirements.
